BUT WHAT DO WE DO WHEN IT RAINS?

If I am brutally honest (and those of you who follow me or know me in any way will know that I am). I LOVE when it rains on a wedding day, and there are so many reasons why.

FOR YOU

You get to have a really special memory of rain on your wedding day, everyone will remember “the time it rained”, you may have been leaving the church, the house, or even the toilet. But if any of your guests are hesitant about their memories of your wedding day, throw in ‘remember when it rained” and you will be bombarded with what happened before/after and during. I also think it is a sign of good luck, so embrace the rain. Another advantage of the rain, is that your guests are going to want to get in out of it and so, they will gather like obedient little sheep at the reception and eagerly await your entrance, and thats a win/win for everyone.

FOR YOUR GUESTS

Can you imagine the time and effort put into all the outfits and hair and make up? and they were going to run the risk of sunburn/sweat marks or windswept hair, all to come out and greet you in fresh air. Your guests are delighted trust me, they are warm, dry and have a drink in their hand, what more could they want?

YOUR HOTEL/RECEPTION VENUE

They are so delighted, do you know how many times brides and grooms have been late to their reception for all sorts of various reasons? (none of which were caused by the photographer – thought I would get that in there) and here you are safe in the venue, so the dinner can be served on time, and you get to avail of all of the facilities for your photos.

ME

Some of my best shots have come from rainy days, I get to do what I do best and that is work under pressure. I will appear laiden down like a donkey, with umbrellas, lights, blankets (even wellies for the very adventurous) and will create something dramatic and truly memorable. Also I should point out that it is very unusual for it to rain the WHOLE day, so the chances are you will get to nip outside for a few quick shots. We are all adaptable and you will amazed at the opportunities a change in circumstance can provide. From an artistic point of view, I should also point out that there is nothing more beautiful than having cloudy dramatic skies in your photos (just saying, carry on)

The most important thing is that your day, is the way you want it, so the important thing is to ‘keep communication alive’ talk to all your vendors, let your photographer know that you are afraid of getting your dress dirty, let the hotel know that you don’t mind running a few minutes late for the speeches, with constant communication you are guaranteed to get the day you want and deserve, rain or no rain.

NOW, go quick and book me, before the rain comes
